Max's story
This is what Max's foster mom has to say about Max:
"Max was found as a stray by a high school friend of mine, wandering a local neighborhood with another dog. While she could find a home easily for Max's puppy companion, Max had no one wanting to foster, much less adopt. With his only outlook being the county (kill) shelter, my husband and I knew that we had to let Max into our homes and our hearts.
Max can best be described as a dog person's dog. While he's an older guy, he gets excited to go out on walks, and I have caught him chasing his tail on more than one occasion. Max is a quiet boy who doesn't bark or growl. The cutest thing about Max is his smile... and his tendency to look pouty on the floor, all while wagging his tail. Max sleeps a lot during the day and night, and even though he can't hop into my human bed, he still sleeps in our room at night, faithfully at the foot of the bed. He's hard of hearing, so he doesn't respond to his name or commands like "sit", but he's well behaved in the house and on a leash. Max gets wet food a couple of times a week as a treat, and he goes absolutely crazy for it. He sticks his face in the bowl so much that it slides around on the floor, and he'll slide right along with it! Max is a kind boy, with a precious face and a loving demeanor. He doesn't beg for attention, but when you see his big smile and tail wag, he steals your heart. He likes a comfy bed to lie in, wearing a sweater, and long walks.
Max would like a home with people who love to take leisurely walks, and a yard where he can explore and sniff to his heart's content!"
Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $250.
