My story
Meet Butters!*Butters is in our Houston foster program and will be able to travel in August.*Hey there, I'm Butters. I'm 10 years old and about 85 pounds. I'm a good girl with cats and other dogs. When I'm around other dogs that are a bit more energy than I tend to like, I might get a bit grumpy, but my foster mom says I handle those spunky dogs like a champ, and in the most appropriate way. Even still, I'd like to live with another calm dog, if I'm going to live with one. Since I've been in my foster home I've only been around kids 5-9 years old. I really like them and sometimes want to play with them a bit, but once they get too rambunctious i tell them to stop by barking at them. I'm a big girl, so maybe little kids wouldn't be a great fit for my new home. I'm a mature lady, and love being around my people and love to be pet by them once I get acquainted. I tend to bond pretty quickly, and will let you know when strangers are near. With proper intros to the new people, I become quick friends with your wanted guests. I love dinner time and will do a little hop and two step dance for you, but make sure you feed me by myself. I don't like others bothering me when i eat or when I'm in my kennel. Sometimes a girl just needs her alone time. I'd love to find a relatively quiet home where I don't have to worry about attention, so I can make up for all the petting I missed out on in my life up to this point! Albert's Dog Lounge is a transporting dog rescue, meaning that we rescue many of our dogs from high kill shelters in areas of dog overpopulation. We are a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs.

The vast majority of our dogs come from the Houston, TX area where we have an entire team of volunteers, coordinators, and fosters. We do also work with local shelters, rescues, and owners.

If you apply for a dog that is currently in our local Houston program, we will work to get your dog transported to WI as quickly as possible.
